Died

So today my HTC ONE would not turn on or even show the status led while charging. When I hold down the power button after 5 seconds it flashes the buttons at the bottom off and on.




Any ideas what is going on?

This has happened to others. Some people let/made the battery die completely, then recharged the device and the problem was gone.
I wouldn't do that. I'd return it for an exchange. You're paying for the phone, you should get a good one.

Never had this issue, but hold down power and volume up for 10 sec...that should do it

I held the power button for 10 sec and the Volume up to do a hard reset. The screen never came on.. So now the top led flashes red while charging. After another hard reset it powered up. The battery was completely dead. Now the question is why? I saw somewhere that there was a new Sprint Zone app that is doing something with the battery.
