Strange one here.
If i set background app refresh off i dont get most if not all of my notifications even if a lot on my search online says they are not connected.
I get text/calls but not things like ebay/amazon/news etc which needs to be updated to send info like news important stuff like news flash or amazon delivey time/ebay messages on questions or deliveryies etc.
I have now left it on working on wifi/data.
Is this right what they say as if a app cant update when not being used (in the background) how does it know about these stuff like amazon saying im next for a delivery or ebay if a question is asked and deliveries for notifications as then it will update to get this info then push it to me.
Tried my old IOS iphone 8 and get the same there as now im on a S10 and have been for a year or so.
I only found this out when i tried it out and it was hit and miss what i got like got text but not other stuff.
