black screen during phone calls, won't wake up

I'm not a gamer and pretty much stick with stock standard apps with the majority being apps by Google.

Always, IMO, be suspicious of games as well as any non-mainstream apps. Check the feedback for such apps and you will often find others have complained about the exact problem you are having.

Still no solution after weeks of scouring forums for a fix or workaround.

Every call, or just some calls?

1. Reboot your phone in safe mode (see below) and make a call - does it happen then?
2. Reboot your phone in normal mode and make a call - does it happen then?

If it works normally after either 1 or 2 above, then there is a good chance that the problem is related to some other app. Check the feedback for every non-mainstream app you are using and/or try to determine which app when run after a reboot causes the problem to reappear.

Reboot into safe mode:

• Phone on
• Hold power button until Power off banner appears
• Long-press on Power off banner until "Reboot to safe mode" banner appears
