Can I swap my Nexus 6 sim to use it in Europe?

Nexus 6 Verizon use in Europe

So I have a nexus 6 with Verizon but I'm planning on going to Europe (England, Germany, Denmark, Finland and Russia). Can I swap my SIM for a European carrier prepaid and change the radio setting to GSM and have service? I'm a novice at swapping SIMs as I've always had Verizon and know nothing of Europe carriers. I don't want to pay Verizon's over seas fee's. Ideas, thoughts?

Verizon hasn't officially released the Nexus 6 yet, so chances are you're using an unlocked version. You should be fine.

Correct it's unlocked via Motorola.
