I have a 64GB samsung evo class 10, suddenly stopped working on note 4, cant mount/detect by fone.
I accessed the card via laptop says 28gb used, but when i copied or scanned the files its just 12gb
Folders:
Camera - 16b++ - says empty folder
Camera (0) - 12gb ++ - copied from old phone

I tried scanning with malwarebytes,nod32 and avg but no malware found.
I tried checkdisk using right click, but after 6hrs didnt finish. so i cancelled.
i tried checkdisk command suggested by users on the first page but takes too long.
Timeline:
after 1hr++ - Windows is verifying files and folders
after 30mins ++ - Corruption was found while examining files in directory \DCIM\Camera\ (0)
after 30mins ++ - Corruption was found while examining files in directory \DCIM\Camera\ (1)

This is the folder with 16gb on it and was used by the Camera. I am leaving this on for the day.

Any info why this happend? anyways to fix this?

Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!! This worked perfectly. My Samsung Galaxy S5, and my laptop kept giving me the message "Damaged SD card" and asking me to format it. I had just transferred over 500 pictures from an old phone, and then deleted them off the phone, so the only way for me to get them was from the SD card. I did exactly what you said, and it worked!!! I just transferred the pictures to my laptop, and I am so happy! These are important family pictures from 2015, and I was so sad that I might be losing them.

Try this everyone, it works!!

Sir it fixed my memory card 2 times but afterwards when i tried the mentioned fix again it says "The drive, the path or the file name is not valid".
I have mounted my memory card through SD card Slot and entered the correct Drive alphabet.
Please help and reply as soon as possible..

tl;dr: class 10 -> bad ! class 4 -> good! ;-)
(well, bad for MY android device; but not bad for a photo camera device for example)

The (permanent) solution for me, was:
I replaced the microSD card with a class 4 one!
I had a class 10 one which would "Damaged SD card" often! especially after (re)boot!
Now with the class 4 card, no more errors!
For whoever cares for more details, here: https://code.google.com/p/android/issues/detail?id=2500#c293
(so that you may draw your own conclusion)

i have a problem... my SD card could not be detected to my Lenovo s930, i don't know whether it is my device's problem or the SD card problem?
i have tried to mount my SD card to other phone, although there got showed SD card, but could't move the data into SD card, how to determine whether device or SD card problem?
and of cause i have tried the recommended way given by mukundrathod111, it was good and no any problem during this process. but i remount the SD card into my phone, it still showed no memory card.
anyone got suggestion about this? I'm so depressed right now.

Re: Damaged Sd card Error / Wont Mount - Fix??

I think I Got it Finally.
Recovering Data is not the solution Not even Formatting your SD card.
I have the same problem after some days it doesn't load some Apps in Android when i check it in the settings it shows "DAMAGED SD CARD"
I tried to connect with SD CARD Adapter slot in my Laptop but still couldn't detect and it asked to Format it.
I tried to fix it with "CHKDSK" utility but couldn't do it through windows.
But could do it with command prompt.
Not if you have the same problem follow.....

connect your SD card to computer.
open command prompt.
How ? .......
open run from start button
then type "cmd"
now type

chkdsk /X /F <SD card drive letter>:

If its K drive then

chkdsk /X /F K:

It will check your card and will repair it.
Have patience it will take around 10 min.
when it is done windows will detect your card evn your android phone.
Have a nice day......:D:D:D:D:D
This worked perfectly. Scanning completed in just 5 seconds too
Thanks a lot mate, you saved a LOT of my stuff

Re: Damaged Sd card Error / Wont Mount - Fix??

hey i kept trying to fix my damaged sd card but nothing would work
until i finally tried something. all you need a another android phone and
your damaged sd card. and all you do is plug in the sd card in the other phone
it should say its damaged or something and all you do is touch it in the notifications
and it will as you to format it so do it and after its done put it back on your
original phone]
and there you have a working sd card
took me a while to figure this out and i can gaurantee it will work on yours.

My phone started overheating first and I have no other phone so what should I do?

What if the SD Card is encrypted and does not mount to a drive letter?
