Lately when trying to open images from my Gmail app I just get a white exclamation point in a white triangle. (see attached) what's more strange is my wife's HOX can open the same image just fine. Do I have to do a factory reset? uploadfromtaptalk1352536985602.jpg

Go to settings-apps-gmail-Erase date and Force Stop. This should help =)

No you do not have to do a factory reset. (Please people, stop rushing to factory reset. Its seldom necessary).

Basically that means the message attachment hasn't been fully downloaded yet, or is broken (corrupted) or it is of
a type that Android doesn't know what to do with.

Try what thedroidfanatic suggests.
