Android Central Question

Please help, my Phone's touchscreen is not responding anymore. I cant touch it so that it can open nor is it responding to me when i try to open it through the touchscreen. I can still on and off it however with the power button. I think it got wet because I put it close to the sink when I washed the dishes. Please help! Whats the best thing to do right now so that it doesnt get destroyed or can I dry it and hope for the best? Please help!

Welcome to Android Central! Rice is an iffy bet. I've heard instances where it worked and also didn't work. It may be best to let it air dry, like Kizzy suggested.

My husband (boyfriend at the time) dropped his iPhone into water once and it survived! Try not to panic.

Do you have any of your important information backed up?

Thanks everyone! My phone is currently wrapped in a piece of cloth stored inside my closet haha. Ill update and hope for the best

Hi, welcome to AC!

Did the phone get submerged in water or just the screen got little wet?

(Sorry I dont know how to reply) but for morty2264, no I do not so I am using my laptop haha so I really hope it gets fixed

For mustang7757, It only got a little wet, iirc, i laid it close to the sink while washing the dishes so it may got splashed on but not full on submerged.

Ok , i think you should be ok after a wipe down , anytime water left on the screen it doesn't react to finger imput well until dried.

You can still let it soak in the rubbing alcohol -- hopefully, it might help any moisture evaporate. But the problem with water damage is that it can be pretty quick, so the damage may already be done. Ultimately, you will probably have to get a new phone. Sorry!
