How to remove glue residue on galaxy s4 when replacing glass screen

I believe a video showed a heat gun? Not sure if that would help. There was a thread a day or so ago which showed the complete disassembly and reassembly of the phone with a new screen.

I think rubbing alcohol helps? Not so sure how you can remove that layer of residue other than rubbing it away.
