Huawei p20 Pro--lost camera icon from home scrreen

[Android Central Question]

Hi, I forgot to plug in my phone yesterday and it lost power overnight and shut down. When I recharged & powered up this morning it had erased all my contacts and deleted the camera icon from the home screen, as well as two other icons. It's also giving new colors to previous text messages, which is interesting. How do I get the camera icon back? I looked in apps but it is not there. Why did the camera flake out on me when it lost power?

Check under disable apps, app drawer, play store?
