So I know there was one post already related to this but no solution in that thread has worked, nor has any solution posted on various websites.

I wish I could just disable LG IMS as the frame work contributes to features of my phone I simply don't use, however I cannot find the place to do so nor the IP type most websites tell me to. Like I said I have a Stylo 4 so that may be the issue.

I also doubt it has to do with any particular app as a factory reset did not fix it.

I am at my wits end so either a detailed guide for disabling it or any other fixes would be greatly appreciated.

Sorry if this is old news, but I found at least a temporary workaround - my phone has been stable and functioning with wifi calling overnight, as well as my wife's phone (both LG v30s). The following steps are an amalgam of previous posts to some degree. IMPORTANT: per a chat with T-Mobile DO NOT bother with a factory reset, it is simply a waste of time. Per T-Mobile they say LG says it will not fix this.

There is only one goal here - change from IPV6V4 to IPV4V6.

1. Turn on wifi calling (no idea if this is necessary, but it worked in our case - another poster said to set wifi calling setting to prioritize cellular over wifi - I found that unnecessary)

2. Turn off all App Notifications (you'll restore them at the end) - I got the impression the pop up is being triggered every time an app tries to reach out looking for a notification. The phone will still be checking for texts, etc. but this may (or may not, but it worked for us) limit some of the triggering criteria. Settings --> Apps --> Notifications --> Disable all

3. Clear the cache and data for com.lge.ims.rcsprovider AND the much further down LG IMS app - Settings --> Apps --> App info --> Three dots button in upper right --> Show system --> click respective item --> storage --> clear cache/data (back / back / clear the second item)

4. After clearing the second item, timing is crucial here. Just click the phone dialer (don't bother closing out of settings) --> Dial 277634#*#, scroll down a bit --> click IMS Setting (if you get the pop up before you get here, you won't be able to see or click on the next bit, and will have to complete step 3 again) --> click Slot - 0 --> click IP version --> click IPV4V6

5. Go back to notifications and either select all, or use this as an opportunity to clean things up a bit.

I believe that's it. So far everything seems pretty normal, but not 100% sure.

This is what finally worked for me. But I don't think it is solely the IP change that fixed it. What changed with this method from all my previous attempts was clearing cache and data for LG IMS too. Also, instead of putting yourself on a timer, Airplane mode will likely do just fine. You can leave it on while you go in to dial and change your IP setting, and if it all works once you come back out the pop up won't return.

LG IMS Keeps Stopping [FIXED]

THIS FIX WORKED FOR ME.

I have an LG k51 that had the "LG IMS Keeps Stopping" error message. Follow these directions to the letter and hopefully this will work for you. Written May 25th, 2022.

1. Reboot your phone in safe mode. THIS IS A MUST. Lookup the specific way to do this for your device.

2. Open Settings > Apps > App Info.

3. On the Top Right Corner, expand the menu with the Three Dots, and select "Show System".

4. Find "com.lge.ims.rcsprovider", and click it.

5. Goto "Storage", and click "Clear Cache" and "Clear Data".

6. Press Back Arrow and click "Force Stop". Force stop MUST stay greyed out in order to continue. The only way to force stop this process is to clear the cache and data first!

7. Next, goto your phone dialer and enter 277634#*#. This will open the hidden menu.

8. Click on "IMS Setting". Click on "Slot 0 : MPCS / US".

9. Ensure your settings are as follows:

VoLTE - Disabled
Debug - Enabled
IPVersion - IPV4V6
Support PS Session - Disabled
IPSec Enable - Enabled
SPI 3GPP standard - Enabled
Check Indicator Support - Enabled
Audio Codec Info Screen - Disabled

10. Back out of all the menus and restart your phone.

11. Ensure that you disable "Airplane Mode", and the problem should be fixed.

I really hope this works for you guys. Follow the instructions exactly!

My phone was fine today, then just started the issue again after I restarted just now. The "fixes" posted online did not work for me and I've a feeling they aren't actual fixes.

Hi, I have an LG Stylo4 on T-Mobile Android 8.1. And I too had the "LG IMS Keeps Stopping" incessant messages starting yesterday. I tried several of the possible fixes mentioned in this thread, including deleting all the IMS caches I could find, but the messages kept coming.
I noticed that although the signal strength bars indicated a usable strength, the phone wouldn't support voice to text saying no network was available.
This started late last week.
I went into Settings | System | Reset and Restart and selected Network Setting Reset.
Worked. Phone back to normal.
Switched Wi-Fi calling off and the phone is still stable.
I'm hoping the phone stays happy.

On mine I can't clear out the cache for LG IMS. If I go into app info it just gives me a list of other apps that use it? There's absolutely no option on the screen for data/cache/information anything

you don't need to network reset. follow the steps elsewhere to clear data/clear cache/force stop of com.lge.ims.rcsprovider. try it with & without wifi, airplane mode, wifi calling (cellular priority). different people seem to have luck with different combinations. good luck.
What does network reset do? I'm too scared to do it myself

on mine i have a force stop button available - try that - and then go under storage (should be visible while on the app info screen)- that's where you should find clear data/cache
