Moto G - 3rd Generation - phone boots on a goolge home screen, no other andriod

I have recently purchased a new Moto G - 3rd generation and was in the process of transferring all data from an old phone (contacts, photos and videos) using the Motorola Migrate App. The transfer was interrupted before it completed as the old phone's battery ran out. As a result the new phone will only load with a google home screen, there is no access to any other options / apps / menus on the phone.

Any suggestions or pointers would be greatly appreciated!

Can you post a screenshot or describe what else is on the screen? Can you do anything as far as accessing apps or phone functions? If not, you may want to factory reset the new phone and start again.

I've had to factory reset it which wasn't ideal. Thank you for the swift response.
