Samsung Galaxy S7, photo editing features in Gallery app no longer work since my last update

In my Samsung Galaxy S7 Active, the latest update won't allow me to rotate my photos while in the Gallery app, when trying to manipulate individual photos, ie. to darken or lighten, crop, etc ... or rotate permanently. My auto-rotate settings ARE set to auto-rotate in general settings already. In the Gallery app there are 2 buttons in the edit menu used to rotate photos left or right. They do not work since my last update. Anybody got any ideas ?

I started to panic after the Android update last night but found the old version under the three dots - now renamed "Photo Editor Pro" - when a photo is open in Gallery. Hope that helps.
