Some edited with Snapseed. I think all were taken with a gcam app, not the native camera app. It's been hot so I haven't been outside with the opportunity to take some shots. IMG_20200608_063718-01.jpgIMG_20200607_210817-02.jpgIMG_20200607_130224-01.jpeg

Suggestion: When posting photos here, please mention which lens/magnification (e.g. Standard, Telephoto 3X, Wide), and mode (Portrait, Macro, nightVision, Ultra-Res, etc.).

And also, which camera app, if not Moto Camera, and whether any post editing/filters applied, vs. default capture from the camera app (as BenjamminH has been including in his posts).

Thanks!

Actually it's just the standard camera. Not sure why that little patch on the frog's back ended up out of focus. I'm thinking the moss on the rock caused it to lose focus for a split second as I snapped the shot and it created a shallower depth of field around the frog's face, while the rest of its body kind of camouflaged into the pattern set by the moss. Or maybe it's something to do with facial recognition, because as you can see, when you zoom in on the face, the image is super crisp. It kind of bothered me initially, but then I didn't give it much of a 2nd thought.
Beeare, was this a Portrait mode or Telephoto lens shot? I'm wondering about the out of focus area of the frog's back.

I'm afraid Moto has a depth of field/focus bug in the edge+ quad-binning algorithm, based on comparison shots vs. my Moto Z2 Force, plus I recall at least one edge+ press reviewer complaining about this, but not sure which one.

I'm going to post a few examples in a dedicated thread here, so as to not hijack this thread and call attention to the issue, for others to comment (and hopefully Moto to see).

They definitely have some bugs like upsetting the telephoto and ultra wide shots as well. This will be a good test and real challenge to see how willing and able Moto is to bring necessary camera improvements.

First photo is macro mode and a crop from that and google photos auto editing. Second is Gcam ultrawide camera and Google photos auto edit. IMG_20200624_095055805_HDR.jpegIMG_20200624_100345.jpeg
