I use my N7 for just about the same things already mentioned here:
- e-books
- web surfing
- e-magazines
- movies
- YouTube
- email
- Note-taking

But I've also used it in the kitchen as a replacement for cookbooks! I can get real-time weight/measurement conversions on the fly, as well as look up new recipes as-needed!

I've also used it to write a few short discourses while on the go using Evernote.

I love my N7!!!
:D

How do you find typing on the N7? I tried using a split keyboard on my GTab2 and I find it's horrible. Do you use the swiping or do you use it maybe in portrait? I'd like some good advice on typing on this device.

Also, is there an external keyboard that works with this device?

My Nexus 7 is a family entertainment and education module.

With Netflix it takes the place of our TV.
The game apps have diverted attention away from our wii.
It has taken the place of our portable dvd player because I have loaded the kid's videos as mp4s.
With 4.3 it replaces our family Digital photo frame.
All of us use it as an e-reader.
It has cut our gs3 phone use in half leading to the likelihood of highly charged phone to go.
Speaking of our gs3s, now that I'm getting Android straight from the source I no longer feel like Milton Waddams when my phone doesn't get the most recent update.

I use Swype on both my phone and N7. I don't like trying to type with the virtual keyboard.

My Nexus 7 gets used for a lot of things:

- Web browsing
- Email
- eBooks (Kindle, Kobo...)
- eMagazines (Zinio)
- Accessing forums (Tapatalk)
- Chatting (Hangouts, Facebook, Skype)
- Watching videos
- Playing games
- Taking notes

My laptop gets used for Photoshop and app development. While working, I'll listen to podcasts and watch videos on my Nexus 7, check reference info and take notes. It's like having a second screen available.

Once I'm done working, I try to avoid using my laptop, so having my tablet means I can still get on the forums, read, and relax.

SwiftKey is my keyboard choice, although I'll jump over to Thumb Keyboard if I need something a little more accurate.

I use it as a laptop replacement mostly. I play games (a lot easier to play on than a phone), I look at emails, I do a bit of light word processing, I make spreadsheets, I browse the internet, watch youtube, I really only use a laptop to write essays nowadays, lol.

Almost everything I do on my phone plus a little more.

Calling (Talkatone)
Texting (Google Voice)
Browsing the web
Listening to music
Messaging with Hangouts
Reading books
Watching Netflix
YouTube
Buying movie tickets
Using IMDb
Checking email

I use it for other things occasionally but those are my main uses.
