I downloaded some webpages in chrome android and wanted to view them on another platform.

Unfortunately there's no file extension showing and I can't view them correctly in any browser.

Even chrome android won't re-open the file it saved!

Does anyone know what file type chrome downloads webpages as?

Thanks in advance!

That depends on what the page was and what it allows to save. Could have been an HTM/HTML file, a PHP file, a JS file... Unfortunately not all browsers can open 'specialty' files that sometimes require a plug-in to work (like PDFs). The most common one, however, should be an HTML file and, most likely, all embedded files needed to display the page correctly.

Also remember that just saving a page does NOT mean you'll be able to open it elsewhere (or even in the same phone later). Some pages are encrypted/tied to a specific-session login, so saving that would likely not be displayed in a different device or session since the proper login token is not found.

If you use Chrome on your computer or another phone you could try turning on sync. Just sign in to your Google account in Chrome on those devices.
