Why am I having issues sending text messages

I broke my moto g and bought another both on US Cellular and switched the SIM card over and now the only way I can send a text is if I attach a picture to it. Once I send one with a picture I can occasionally send one text without attaching pictures but not every time. The messages app is set to mms. I talked to US Cellular and they said my SIM card is incompatible with the new phone even though they I bought them two months apart. Any ideas on what's going on with my phone I figured I screwed up a setting but I can't figure out what, and I can't see how the SIM would be incompatible when both phones are this year's phone's

Is there any reason why you haven't asked US Cellular for a new SIM? That would be the first thing I'd try.
