Battery not present

I have a Samsung Mesermize and I purchased an extended battery off of Amazon. The battery will not charge in the phone, but will charge in the desk cradle. Once charged it will work in the phone but as soon as I plug it in I get Batter not present. Anyone know a way to fix this? Or if maybe it would be fixed when Froyo is released for it. Thanks for any info!

I've had this happen twice. What is happening is the battery sellers are hawking batteries for the International version of the Galaxy S, the i9000. The i9000 batteries are not completely compatible with the i500 (which is what the Fascinate and Mesmerize are).

If the seller actually stated that it was a compatible battery for the Mesmerize, you should be able to get your money back, because they are mistaken. They can simply do a Google search and find plenty of proof that the i9000 battery is not for the i500.
