Allow me to clarify: the reason I ask is because I got 5 bars of lte everywhere in my house prior to updating (I was running release firmware)

After updating, I get three. On restart it starts off as five then after a minute or two drops to 3. I think this is the phone switching from 700mhz to the other band. If I go into a remote part of my house it pops back to five bars. I think this is it switching back to 700mhz. I'd like to confirm this is what's happening.

That said data and voice are great. In areas where I was losing lte and failing back to 3g it holds on much better now.

There is no indicator for unrooted. The only way to tell is speed test. If you get over 80 mbps down or 20mbps up then you should be on XLTE.
