Better keyboard?

I have AI Keyboard APK and have installed it OK. But when I try and set it up, I can't get Android to accept it as a valid option. I can select it, but as soon as I hit the back button, it gets unselected again.

Anyone got any ideas how I can get around this? My Kindle is rooted.

I think it's a problem with Amazon's android implemention. People have reported that they keyboards revert back to the Amazon default when they reboot the device.

Yeah. I just got a new keyboard in leather case from Amazon and every time I boot up the Fire, I have to do the configure again.
