Stop pattern lock error track?

Is there any way to stop the pattern lock screen showing the trail of an incorrect swipe?

Did you set it to show your pattern as you swipe, or is it invisible until you get an error?
If it is the latter then I guess it's just automatic that your.phone wants you to know you got a wrong pattern, and I guess you can't change that...

Not with stock Android. With CyanogenMod there is an option to hide pattern errors.
