Phone lost all data

[Android Central Question]

I held down the volume and power buttons simultaneously to do a screen shot. My phone went blank and when powered up, all data reverted to date of purchase (4/20)
and all data since then is lost.

Yes, sometimes there are technical glitches like that, alas. Backing up personal data is a safeguard against such losses.

Welcome to Android Central! That shouldn't have happened. Even if you had somehow gotten to the Recovery Menu with that button press combo, you still would've had to go through a number of confirmatory steps before triggering a factory reset. I agree with belodion, it was probably some catastrophic glitch with the firmware or hardware. Not much we can do to help you with that, if you didn't back up your important data in the first place.
