Reported phone lost and then found it

Ok so I lost my phone couple months ago and reported it lost and claimed it lost with insurance and got a new one a few days after.

So basically it was in between seats in my car and was crushed so the lcd was damaged as well.

I looked online and a new housing and lcd was around $155ish. Do you think it's worth it to fix it?


And also I told my dad I would just sell it for parts but he said we might get filed for fraud cause he "reported it lost" if all else fails do you guys think it's ok to just sell it for parts? or is he just being too paranoid?

The insurance company should be notified and they can advise you if it should be returned to them, turned into the carrier or destroyed.
