Why does my battery not want to charge as it was charging fine the previous day?

[AC Question]

I have a LG Optimus G Pro and my battery life was approximately 1.5 days depending on 3G.
I have the phone in my shirt pocket along with my wife's Samsung S3mini and both our phones died out all of a sudden and does not want to charge at all.
Can it be a power surge

Welcome to Android Central! The only way a power surge would do that is if both were plugged into an unprotected wall outlet. If they were working fine before, and then suddenly died while in your shirt pocket, then I don't see how a power surge could do that.

Have you tried new batteries for both phones?
