S4 screen won't timeout and lock button doesn't lock phone.

I have a rooted i9505 s4. The screen stays on and doesn't timeout although the setting is times for 15 seconds. The lock button will not lock the phone and this is a software issue as holding the button will turn it off just the lock function. Yesterday I attempted changing the boot animation with the
Samsungboot.qmg files and it removed the animation. It occurred after this however I don't see how it is related and I don't have the original boot qmg files. Help! Thank you.

Try a factory reset and see if that restores the files. If it doesn't, you'll need to restore the factory ROM or extract the necessary files and push those to your device.
