Why won't my HTC One M8 turn back on?

HTC one m8 wont switch back on

Put a new SD card in, added music back on to it, went to check it in file manager and just got a black screen. Tried a couple of other apps and had the same black screen. Then I tried restarting the phone to try and fix the problem, took a long time to completely switch off and never restarted again.

I can plug a usb into the phone and it's recognised by HTC Sync Manager but I get no charging LED or anything displayed on the screen, any way to fix this?
