Has voice messaging changed ?

I have a Samsung Galaxy S3 and using voice in my messaging app has changed. It now gives me multiple choices of the voice to text and if I hesitate even for an instant it stops the translation. Is there a way I can go back to the old way where it was just put in my text box and I can edit it from there?

What keyboard are you using? Go in to your settings, language and input, and see if Google Voice Typing is checked. Also what is your default Keyboard? I use Swiftkey and it types out as I speak, it utilizes the Google Voice Typing unlike Swype which using Dragon.
