When connecting headphones music is still playing through speakers

Hi

Lately I have brought a new Sony Xperia z3 plus with that phone o got some Sony hi-res audio MDR-10RC headphones. When I connect those headphones to my phone the music is playing from the headphones as well as through the phone speakers. However when I connect normal cheap pair of headphones the music is only playing through them. What do I need to do to make the sound to only play through the headphones not the speakers as well?

Hi, it sounds like the headphone jack isn't connecting properly with the phone. Try pushing it in all the way, even if you need to use a little force. If not then I would look at exchanging the headphones as you confirmed other headphones work so it isn't the phone.
