How do I force power off Moto G 1st gen manually? My display is broken so screen is unresponsive

My moto g fell and broke and the display is not working. I need to give the phone for repair but first i want to reset it to factory settings so all my data is deleted. But to do the hard reset option, the phone needs to be switched off first. Long-pressing the power key only restarts the phone. How do i SHUT the phone off?!?! Please help

As far as I know there's no way to power off just with the physical buttons. Does your screen recognise touch to confirm the power off? If you are after a factory reset you could try signing online with your Google account and do that from Android Device Manager. Do you have it enabled in your phone?
