How do I know if he blocked me?

So, I have a Samsung Avant phone. I texted by bf who I recently got into an argument but he does not respond. I called him, and it rings like 5x until it takes me to voice mail. Does that mean he did not block me? and most importantly, does that mean he had received my text messages?
