Anyone else having trouble with the Gear S2 syncing notifications?

I just purchased the Samsung Gear 2S Classic a few days ago. A few disappointments with the smart watch. Biggest problem is that my Gear 2S does not receive notifications from my Samsung Galaxy S4 phone. It will receive phone calls, instant messages, chat messages, but they do not show up in the notifications list, just in the applications list when you select phone calls, messages, etc. And, it does not receive any emails at all. Neither on the notification screen, nor in the applications list. Very aggravating. And contacting Samsung Tech Support was useless.
