Samsung Note 5 Charging on it's Own

My note 5 continues to say "dock is connected" and beginning to charge itself when nothing is plugged into it. The "dock" in question will connect and disconnect rapidly within a matter of a minute until I restart my phone. It does it so fast and so much that i cant do anything on my phone. Is there anything i can do to stop it?

That's normally an indication of dirt in the dock connector.
