Every fix I have seen on every forum and youtube video = nope.

Uninstalled updates from play store/market. Nope.

Cleared data from play store/market. Nope.

followed every possible combination of the above plus more. Nope.

Does anyone have the fix for this?

Thanks in advance.

Deleted my google account then reinstalled it. Worked for me. Give it a go......

Super simple had the exact same problem.
Just remove google account located in accounts section within settings area.
The add new account pick Google and enter in your email and password.
There you go it should work, as good as new

when i go to delete my google account it says i will lose all my info and pics, will i in fact lose all my info?

Welcome to Android Central! You will lose your Google data only locally on the phone. Your Google data will sync back to the phone from the cloud when you add the account back. Locally saved photo files on your phone won't be affected.

I am on a HTC Desire. (Old, I know!)
When I try and delete Google account it says the only way to do so is to reset the phone to factory settings, which I don't really want to do. IS this really the only option?
I have tried clear cache solution and change timezone solutions previously suggested to no avail.

You have to have at least one Google account in the phone - you can add a new one, then delete your current one - then add the current one back and delete the new one.
