Samsung Tab 4 locked up during boot

The tablet is locked up at the att symbol. I can get it to reboot using the power button and Volume Down button hold for 10 seconds method, but it just locks up again at the swirling att symbol. If I use power, volume down, home button and then do it again as soon as it starts to boot I can get into ODIN MODE. That is as far as I can get. Please help.

Hi, are you able to boot the device into Safe mode? what happened prior to this issue, were you trying to root the device or installing a software update?
