ow long Does a sumsung galaxy S5 take to charge HALFWAY?!!

My phone is at zero and i was wondering why it didn't charge! I figured out that my power plug system was switched OFF! so now here i am waiting for what seems forever! I waited about an hour and it was only at 15%, how long does it really take and why does it take so long?

Depends on the specs of the charger being used, if the phone is on and what is running in the background, the age and status of the battery.

A brand new, never used S5 and battery should probably be fully charged in about 2 hours.

There are several reasons why charging from zero could take very long.

Welcome to Android Central! If the battery was pretty deeply drained, it can take 4-6 hours before it really starts to charge. Leave it plugged into a wall outlet undisturbed overnight, and then see how it is in the morning.
