AC Question

Today the video/camera toggle stopped working on my Droid Turbo 2. Tapping it just starts a recording. I've tried booting in safe mode and the same thing happens. I've also tried a Force Stop of the Camera App in settings and then a power off and back on. No joy. Can anyone recommend a fix?

Welcome to Android Central! On some camera apps, you have to swipe left or right to toggle between the still camera and video camera--have you tried that?

Thanks for your reply! Yes, I have cleared the App Data, and App cache in settings. I've also just cleared the cache partition in the Recovery console. Still not joy. :(

B. Diddy, thanks for the suggestion. I just tried that, but swiping the icon to the right brings up the settings ring and swiping to the left prompts to view the photos using Gallery or Photos. Tapping used to work just fine until today. I had imported my photos using the default application in Windows 10. Then a couple of hours later tried to take a photo and couldn't.

Thanks for registering! Just a question to better understand what's going on. Do you mean that when you tap on the video icon bottom right (see the screenshot) your phone starts recording? This is the way this camera app works, to take a photo you need to tap anywhere else on the screen outside the focus circle.

Oh man! Yes that works. I can't believe my ridiculous lapse in consciousness. LMAO and feeling dumb. Thank you for going to the trouble of posting the image. My phone got a good cleaning out anyway. :)
