S6 seemingly randomly crashing, and the battery loses its charge, any ideas?

For the past week or so, my S6 (bought last summer, just over a year ago) has been having some apparent battery issues. It seems random, but it seems to happen more when an app is opened and a menu is quickly opened. What actually happens is the phone freezes, and becomes completely unresponsive while it continues to display the static image that was just onscreen. If it is forced to shut down, attempting to turn it back on shows that the battery is now at 0%. This has happened quite a few times, in multiple different apps (ex. Groupme, Snapchat, Pokemon Go, while taking a screenshot), and at various different battery percentages, anywhere from 30% to 70% as far as I've seen. Any idea as to what the issue could be?

Have you tried a factory reset . Most if the time when I have some weird random behavior going ob that usually helps
