Uploading photos and contacts from sd card from Samsung Galaxy Note 3 to Grand Prime phone.

I had a Samsung Galaxy Note 3 quit on me and I couldn't get all pics and contacts to my new phone a Samsung Grand Prime.
They put in the memory card from note 3 to Grand Prime phone but nothing really uploaded. Is there a way to check the memory card now? Would there be pics and contacts saved to hard drive of note 3 and if so how do I access it since phone won't work. Thanks
