S5 randomly forgets SD card. Restarting reminds it. No unmount messages or anything.

My S5 keeps forgetting it has an SD card. I've had the phone for 2.5 years. Over the last few weeks, it forgets that it has an SD card. I'll go to put a photo on fb and the photos on the SD card just aren't there. If I go to gallery, they may or may not show up. Same if I go to files. Restart the phone and all is remembered. The alarm does the same thing. I set the song and it works. A couple hours later, it reverts to the default. It may or may not show the title of the song if you go back into the alarm. After restarting the phone, all is well. For a couple of hours...

Wipe cache partition, gently clean the gold contacts on the card and reboot the device...
