I'm on Win7. I've tried both the provided USB-A to USB-C cable & a 3rd party cable to the USB port [which is USB2.0] and when I pull down on my Pixel & choose transfer files, my device won't appear in my computer.
It works fine on my Surface Pro tablet. My Nexus5 never had this issue.
It's obviously not a cable issue as it works on my Surface...Could it be a USB2.0 port issue? Or maybe the drivers weren't installed correctly? How can I verify that?
Funny part, if I go to developer mode and select MTP, my Pixel will appear in My Computer but only when I pull down & select Transfer Photos
Any thoughts?

If your pixel is anything like other android phones, then it has to be put into MTP or PTP mode in order for the computer to see the phone. Reading your post, I can't tell if your can or cannot connect successfully to your computer.

This is written in your first sentence...
my device won't appear in my computer

This is written in your second to last sentence
if I go to developer mode and select MTP, my Pixel will appear in My Computer

Are you having issues or are you just finding it strange that you pixel acts differently from your Nexus 5? Some devices auto-switch to MTP when connected to a computer so maybe your N5 is doing that.
