Lockscreen won't accept my password

So, I have an Honor 7 phone. I have a problem because I can't get past the lock screen. I remember my password, it's 4 digits and it has always worked.
I'm trying to open my phone, but every time I write the password nothing happens. (With Honor 7 you don't have to press OK or enter after the password, it automatically opens) but now it won't! I don't know what to do. I write my password and the lock screen just stays there and it doesn't open. I tried changing the number with android device manager but it didn't help. Is my only choice to reset the phone? Is there any way I could remove the lock screen? I don't want to lose all my photos....

Try deliberately entering wrong PINs - not too many in case it Resets - to see whether it prompts you to use your Google account details.
