ho trsdtransfer from external SD card to phone

[AC Question]

I recently purchased a Moto Z Play Droid. I also bought an adapter so I can transfer pictures from my game cameras SD cards to my phone, then move them to the internal SD card on my phone. However, the problem I am having is being able to do it. I use to have no problems on my old Motorola droid Maxx. Is there an AP I need to download and use? Please help me. Thanks

Welcome to Android Central! I assume this adapter is an external SD card reader, correct? And are you connecting it to the phone via OTG cable, or does the reader have an OTG plug built-in?

It's a plug in I bought. It uses the so-called style. I can't seem to get the pictures to transfer from the store card to my phone for some reason.

Do you know if it has OTG built-in, or are you using an OTG cable with it? What's the brand and model of the reader?

I can't find it on Amazon -- do you have the link, or a more specific model name/number that I could look up? Trying to determine if it has OTG built-in, or it's just a standard USB-C connection. If it's the latter, you need an OTG adapter.

Inclaror makes it. Look up inclaror usb type c. It will show up then.

When you plug it into your phone, does it give you any notification that it's connected? Some file managers might not recognize it -- try different file managers like Total Commander.
