Could I find my phone if it was sitting in water

I need to know if I could still find my phone if it was sitting in water

Depends on the phone and how well it withstood the water immersion. If the phone is underwater, most signals 'die out' within a couple of millimeters of water, so it's very unlikely that it can receive a 'Find' command or transmit a location. (That's why waterproof Bluetooth headphones never caught on, because as soon as your head goes underwater for just a bit, the signal dies out).
