Welcome to Android Central! In order to reset the Secure Box password, you need to know the old password: Set or Change Password for Secure Box Messaging on HTC One M8 - VisiHow. If you didn't create a password for the Secure Box, somebody else did, and you'll have to figure that out. Or you could do a factory reset, which will likely reset the Secure Box password, but is obviously more of a hassle.
