I took my new Tracfone LG Fiesta 2 to my local library and enabled Wi-Fi and connected to the library's Wi-Fi. The Fiesta 2 has Android 7.0. I went to settings>about phone>update center>software update>check for updates. After about 30 seconds the phone reported that it could not connect to the server. A year ago several cell transmission towers were installed on the roof of this building, so signal strength was at maximum.
Was this likely a temporary glitch?
I asked this question yesterday, but I couldn't find it today.
