Grainy pictures in full sun in Samsung s9’s “Auto” mode?

[Android Central Question]

I have a brand new Samsung s9. I am no photographer so I keep the camera mode on “Auto”. In low light conditions the pictures are better than excellent, but in full sun they are extremely grainy. Am I doing something wrong or should I change the mode and do something different? The full sun pictures are awful.
