Moto X Pure Edition shut-off loop

[Android Central Question]

When I tried to shut off my Moto X Pure Edition last night, it went into a loop, not off but not really on, and the time and date were all wrong. Finally, after 4 or 5 attempts, it shut off. This happened once before, but I had to go through only two cycles that time. What is going on?
