Android Central Question

I am having an issue where an audio message randomly plays "Warning your video player is outdated. Please update video player for android to continue." It then takes over my phone and brings me to either a faux Google play website or it will actually open Google play store to a video player I don't have on my phone. I have cleared cookies, ran play protect, scanned lookout etc. I haven't downloaded any apps recently and my popup blocker is on. It happens while on FB, chrome or even whem my phone is just sitting there unused. I have never had this kind of issue or any virus or malware on my phone before. Please advise! How can I stop this?
