Why does my S pen pop out when I dropped the phone

Part of the shock absorption mechanism (and also how the pen ejector works) lies in the pen ejector, so when you drop your phone if it lands with enough force, it triggers the ejector. Usually the pen doesn't 'fly' out and just sticks out a little, but if the hit was strong enough, yeah, it can cause it to dislodge and break. But better to have a broken pen than a broken phone.
