How can I stop Google play services from using my data after I've restricted background data usage

After restricting background data usage on Google Play services on my infinix note 4 running on Android 8.1, It still finds a way to update itself... I keep teach of this from my data usage settings and I've restricted background data, pls someone should help me out.. It's really killing me

Install a firewall. My ad blocker (Adguard) has great one and I block everything I don't need. Bear on mind however that play services covers a range of functions and your device may not function properly if you block it...
