Outlook crashing

[Android Central Question]

My outlook app on my tablet keeps crashing after a few seconds. I've tried reinstalling but that didn't work.
Any ideas?

Welcome to Android Central! Did you already try clearing the app cache for the Outlook app in Settings>Apps​?

Having the same issue on my Samsung j3, although it's not consistent. Tried uninstalling & reinstalling. Empty cache constantly. Don't know if it's an android problem or Microsoft. Any thoughts?

Is this in Samsung email app or stand alone out look app?

Welcome to Android Central! Did you also try clearing the app data from the Outlook app, then add your email accounts back?

This is the stand-alone outlook app. And yes, I deleted all data and cache before uninstalling. What a pain to get things back in order. I tried going through the Samsung email but didn't like it. Outlook app had worked fine for a couple of years but something happened last month. Updates maybe?

I have not tried just deleting the data without uninstalling. Almost afraid to but will bite the bullet if it might help.

Deleting the data removes the email accounts and whatever app settings you might have changed. Once you add your email accounts back, things should resync fairly quickly. The only caveat would be if you use a POP3 server and locally download copies of important emails, and only save them to your phone (which is inadvisable, if those emails are important).

Thanks. I deleted the data early this morning and my preferences came back easily. So far so good. This may have solved the problem. Thank you so much for the advice.
